31 March 2026. The Guardians of the Earth Foundation is established: a new structure for a long-standing commitment, built on more than forty years of direct experience caring for tortoises.
Establishing the Foundation gives continuity to this experience and opens it to shared responsibility: protecting animals, respecting their environments and fostering a culture of informed care.
A vision that looks beyond the present
Guardianship also means thinking about the future: the quality of the spaces animals inhabit, the expertise needed to care for them and the continuity of their protection. The Ethical Sanctuary is the first project through which this vision takes shape; knowledge, education and dialogue accompany its progress.
The date of establishment is recorded in the founding deed. Registration in RUNTS is a separate, subsequent milestone, described in the dedicated news article.
